Obama Campaign Raises Money Using Augmented Reality App

Never ones to shy away from using trendy digital marketing technology to give their campaign a boost, the Obama campaign is now using augmented reality to fundraise and do much more.

Supporters of the Obama campaign can download the Blippar app, hover over a U.S. $5 bill or any Obama campaign logo and unlock a bunch of exclusive content.

The Blippar app is available for both iOS and Android.

Among the additional augmented reality content are options to donate to and volunteer for the campaign and the ability to take a picture of yourself high-fiving an overlay of Obama and share the picture to social networks.

Now that augmented reality has entered the political world, it will be interesting to see how it evolves and becomes even more a part of campaign digital marketing.

Here is a quick demo video Blippar released to show off the new campaign...

  2. Even if all of those sovereign bonds defaulted and would never get paid, the ECB would survive perfectly well. It would simply show a negative net worth to the tune of several trillion.
